I had a lab when I was a kid and she was pregnant... One day when I got back from school she came to me, she gently bit and pulled on my sleeve. It was a very odd behavior for her, I thought she want me to follow her... So I did she lead me to her pups that she delivered under a snowmobile sleigh, I was young but right there I saw just how smart a dog can be, not only in problem solving but in communication and emotional intelligence.

We have had great luck with Chessies. Good hunters, protectors and great with small children. I can still see the look he would give me when I missed a shot in the dove field.

They can be a bit stubborn though and you have to let them know who's top dog.
Years ago a coworker got a pup and let it walk all over him. He used to lay on his back with the dog on his stomach. I always wondered how that worked out for him...

I am allergic to bully breeds for some reason, their saliva makes my skin bubble up and their hair make me itchy and red the odd thing is it only happen with these type of dogs... and Yes it is also my experience that they are really goofy, they need lots of body awareness training to reduce their clumsiness.

Depends on the size of the dog. I did that with gypsy when she was a pup. She would lay on my chest, or curl around my wife's neck as little pup while riding in the truck.

She lays on the floor in the back seat of the truck now.

As she got bigger she would tuck to my side.

And instead of laying on my chest. She gives me girlfriend cuddles. She lays next to me and sleeps with her head across my shoulder and her muzzle tucked into my neck.
