It's kind of funny, I ended back where I started and got a B7800 today. I guess if I had just done it a few weeks ago I may not have felt as comfortable about the decision as I did today. Hopefully I will still feel the same way after I really get to use it. I'll take delivery on it in a couple of weeks. Anyway, this is my initial set-up:

B7800 w/LA402 Loader, 60" bucket
R-4 fluid filled tires
Toothbar and hooks for the bucket
Bush Hog SBX60 Box Scraper

My dealer worked the numbers some more on the B3030 and couldn't get any closer than $1800. I just couldn't justify in my mind or wallet spending that much extra for some bells and whistles. If I had any experience with those extras maybe I'd miss them, but I don't think I can really miss what I never had. Plus the extra money I saved covered my taxes, toothbar, hooks, and box scraper. And I still have room in my budget to get the trailer that I'm going to need. Thanks to everyone that gave input for my decision.

Congrats on your purchase. Hope it works well for you.

What dealer did you eventually buy from?

Congratulations on the new tractor. I looked real hard at the B7800/B3030, before I purchased a Grand L, but the Grand L was better suited for my needs. However, the B series are great tractors and considering all the information posted about your pending purchase, I'm sure that you made the right decision.

I understand what your saying about the bells and whistles and the only bell or whistle the B7800 is missing is position control other than that it's a great tractor.

Pretty much the same setup I bought almost 3 years ago - just add a post hole auger. Wish I had put the chain hooks on though.

Can't say I have regretted the purchase one bit. Moved a lot of dirt and snow over the last few years. Only one suggestion - add a quick connect on the 3 point hitch. I went with the Pat's easy change. Muscling around a box blade that size is not easy.

Good choice, I'm sure you will be thrilled with the 7800 as I have been with mine. I'm getting ready to perform the 300 hour service and have had no mechanical problems yet. All problems I have had, have been user induced /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
