Done Deal - Major Upgrade

Well I finally did it. Will be going from a 1985 L2250 to a New 2005 M4900 4WD ROPS with LA1002 FEL. Local dealer was not even close on price even with shipping so tractor is coming out of KY.
At first I thought I would keep the 2250 but as I have only enough inside space for one tractor I will probably sell it to help pay for the new one and maybe a new attachment /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Just got my 4900 delivered this Saturday. I put 11 hours on her in two days mowing 8-9 acres and discing 2 acres. I also moved about 10 bucket loads of dirt. I went with a Bush Hog M346 loader. So far I love it!

Yes I will post pictures as soon as I get it. I told the dealer I was willing to wait to split a truck load in order to keep the shipping cost down.
Hopefully it does not take to long to put the load together.

Where are you loacted in Me. ?I live in in the Houlton area, and yes tractor prices are so high up here also.

I live between Bangor and Ellsworth. My wife grew up in Washburn though. Beautiful country up there.
Maybe some day we will move back up that way.
Still no ship date on the tractor, it's going to be a long wait!!

Hi Dave,

I had an old L235 that my dad bought new and left it to me and I sold it awhile back when I bought a new tractor.I sold it for almost what he paid for it new as it was in very good condition, and tractor prices have gone up so.I have kicked myself over and over for ever selling it though,but I did have have a place to keep it under cover.
It may take awhile to get yours but the wait will be well worth it.

Yes it should make logging work a little more productive.
If the weather keeps cooperating you should be able to put your new equipment to work soon too.

I never got a price on an MX. The biggest differences I saw were 3pt lift capacity 2315 for the MX and 3310 for the 4900,and type of final drive, spur gear for the MX and planetary for the 4900.
The 4900 is also a little heavier and has bigger tires. It also comes with some things standard that are options on the MX like a hydraulic remote and draft control which would be nice if you planning on doing any plowing.
I'm sure that all comes at a price and the MX is less $$.
