they delivered the tc40 saturday morning. I have been able to get about 45 min on it this weekend. I have one question. I bought the heavy duty bucket and I was looking at it and noticed all the predrilled holes in the front of it and one on each side what are they for bolt on teeth? I also want to apoligize to publicly to my old jd 1010. It looked real sad sitting there next to the new kid. maybe I will have more time to fix it up since work should go much quicker with the new monster.

I believe the predrilled holes on the front are for a bolt on cutting edge which, when installed, wears instead of the welded on one. The holes on the side are for the bolt on tooth bar. Congrats on the new tractor! /w3tcompact/icons/smile.gif

Here is the reason for the holes Hobby Guy. Congratulations on your tractor. You can get this cutter bar/cutting edge for about $190 from your NH dealer. It's well worth the $$$.

It doesn't look like a toothbar would fit over that however, so I guess it's an either / or? (I have a toothbar on mine)

I have a toothbar on my 17LA but not the cutting bar. Based on Jim's picture it seems that the toothbar would fit over the cutting edge. The slot in the rear of each tooth looks to be high enough that it might slide over the cutting edge and the two ends of the tooth bar have slots where it attaches to the bucket (thus allowing for the necessary slide forward when the cutting edge is installed). Like mikim I'm wondering if this works? My cutting edge is beginning to wear a little and I'm just getting started on my projects (less than 25 hrs seat time this summer/w3tcompact/icons/mad.gif).

Actually there is a toothbar to fit over the edge and thanks to John Miller III, here is the info:

mine too ... and my toothbar as well ... but I'm wondering if I tried to add that cutting edge if the bolt slots are long enough to adjust for the additional edge and would the angle from the front of the cutting edge (because it would be lower then) toward the rear allow for the toothbar to fit flat as is shown in the pic? I've bent my bucket in the middle already and had I had a cutting edge and toothbar on it at the time I'm sure it would have fared better. If I knew it would fit I'd go to the time and expense to add it ... time being straightening out the current damage.
