Dongfeng Purchace- Which One?

So far, we have not seen the problem with the quick connects supplied on the tractor. and the pump on these tractors (at least on our agTracs) is protected by a pressure relief valve at the pump, but still the quick connects are a place where a problem might could occur.

That 2x2? frame showing in the last photo is to protect the under carriage, hoses, drive shaft etc, or part of the subframe for the BH? Nice looking rig and hope you have less problems than some of the jinmas. Also nice view in the back ground, tractor mounted on the trailer.

It looks too nice to go digging with it, but get it over and just dig right in.

Hi,

Those are the axle braces for the FEL. They extend from the engine mount brackets back the the rear axle. Many of the guys with the Jinmas ZL loaders made a mod similiar. These were already part of the Townsunny loaders, one reason I went with the Dongfeng & Townsunny. Already got it a little dirty moving some dirt around. Seems to perform quite good. It was a nice fall day a the cottage 3rd week of Oct.

Thanks Dave

Dave,
It looks like your dealer just plugged the loader hoses into the remotes. We did this on our first tractor and had trouble using the 3 point and loader at the same time. You have a quick connect under the right floor board that can be used for loader attachment. You may want to take the hoses to a hyd shop and have them shortened. If you do this, you will free up the rear remotes and can use the loader or 3 point without having to change the valve position.

Hi Chip,

PMFJI, but could you elaborate? I have a DF304G2 with the Townsunny FEL for a year now, and having to switch constantly from FEL to TPH is indeed quite inconvenient...

FWIW, my FEL was connected to one pair of the rear remotes by DF people, so I guess that's the standard way.

So, if I read you correctly, the idea is to connect directly this quick connect under the right floor board to the pump entry of the loader command box, and keep the rear remote QC to the tank as it is, which would free up one of the remote QCs?

(Side note 1: maybe you'll remember I was in touch with you a year and a half ago, way back when I was trying to get a G2 shipped to New Caledonia. This was finally arranged with the French importer and I am extremely happy with the 304G2, putting aside the usual issues -- oil leaks, wiring... --)

(Side note 2: for those who wonder, yes, the Townsunny FEL seems more sturdy and reliable than that other Chinese brand. I have put it to very hard use in packed clay, and it did resist. My only complain with it is that with the 4-in-1, the bucket vertical motion is too short. This and some persistent leaks here and there!)

Thanks,

Patrick

Not to jump back in here but what you want to do is connect the feed for the FEL valve to the pump side of that QC under the right floor board. Connect the other hose, the return hose, from the FEL valve to the other half of the QC under the floor board. You will end up with no connections to the rear remotes.

Word of caution do this with the tractor shut down and all the FEL and 3 point relaxed, and no load. Make sure the QC's are mated well before starting the tractor back up.

Yes, Chris is correct. you want the flow from the pump to the quick connect under the floor to the pressure side of teh loader control valve, the return from the loader valve then connects to the remaining quick connect under the floorboard. keep the rear remotes in the middle/off position when nothing is connected. Always shut off the tractor when disconnecting the quick connects under the floor. There is a PR valve on the DF tractor, but you don't want to be running on it while you do the connections. the pressure would make it impossible to connect the two parts of the fitting anyway.

Stupid me, it's so obvious once someone describes it! I should have guessed when Dave mentioned a female QC. I suppose that's what you call a bypass in English.
Will try that as soon as I can go to the Big City and get some connectors -- I doubt I can find one of those Chinese female QCs, but I'll follow Chris' advice and use swivel fittings. I never take the FEL off, and should I need to, disconnecting those connectors is probably not what would take most effort!

Thanks,

Patrick
