I haven't shot that many but the population doesn't appear to decrease.I've told this story several times on TBN but I will again. After having damage to his vehicles several times one summer my neighbor to the south killed 153 squirrels off his one acre lot in about three months. The more he shot, the more showed up. And nobody was feeding them.

Their cousins and neighbors seem to just take advantage of the new territory.
Couple friends that live in the city are overrun with the fancy tree rats.
Everywhere you drive there are more.
Electricity guy I know says they have several trucks that go around turning the power back on after transformers have been tripped by squirrels. Crispy crunchie squirrels.
We had one that got zapped and the body hung on the wire for a month plus. He was in a Superman position hanging by his front paws.
We were betting how long he'd last.
Electricity crew knocked him off on one of their drive bys.
Now we'll never know.
