Don't know how to use the pto

I've got a jd 110 tlb and have never used the pto on it so I put a brush hog on it and pulled the pto switch and nothing. Does it sound like a bad switch or am I going to have to dig deeper or is there a step that I'm missing. By the way the pto light does come on on the console. Thanks

Did you try pto without anything attached to see if it spins up?

Thanks I found one and checked the pto switch and it is bad. Thanks for all the help guys
