The tractor only has about 85 hours on it so I definitely want to get it fixed the right way. It still has its whole life ahead of it and I don't want it to become a recurring problem. I plan on keeping this tractor for a long time.

I have it set up perfect with the 3rd function switch for the grapple and the billet aluminum wheel spacers for added side stability and to use chains in the winter. I hope the dealer does not damage the wheel spacers with impact tools during repair.

You can always remove the wheel spacers before taking it in if you're worried they will damage them. I'm with you on "fixing it right." I would only weld it if I didn't have insurance, and never planned to use the drawbar again.

I probably would take off the spacers but there is no room to remove them on the trailer. I didn't stop to think about it until it was already loaded. Even if I had thought of it, there wasn't really any good place in the field to remove them either so I guess I'll just hope for the best.

Just caution them about the wheel spacers and hope for the best. If you had to worry about the wheel spacers then I would not have them make this repair. This is a major job and the wheel spacers are a very small part of it. Good luck with it and hope everything works out.

With the amount of labor involved in completely disassembling the trans-axle and transferring all the components into a new case with gaskets, seals, o-rings... it might just be cheaper to purchase an entire replacement trans-axle assembly. Something to look into.

Any updates on the repair?

I dropped it off at the dealer Monday. It was my first time at the dealer here and so far they seem very nice.
I asked if they thought I could get warranty coverage and they said no way, but the insurance should cover it no problem. Starting the claim process was super easy. Five minutes on the phone Monday and then another five minutes Tuesday for the recorded statement over the phone. Then they said it will be covered and the deductible will be $500.00. Now the insurance is waiting for the official estimate for the repair to decide if it is cheaper to call it a total loss or not.
I was hoping to be past the administrative hurdles this week. Everyone has been nice to work with but this process is taking longer than I had hoped.

I can't see it being a total loss. The trans case and repair would be a lot less than replacing your tractor.
