Every time I get an email or other notice about some website or system upgrading or improving something, I see it with dread. I have yet to see one that made the site or system better than it was. At best, it's about the same but with stuff moved around and harder to find. Nearly every time though, it ends up being less functional, partially crippled or just plain sill looking.

I had to stop using one bank site because they screwed it up so bad. It went from a useful professional looking site to one that looked like it was designed by third graders, full of Easter egg colors and whrily things.

Now I just got such a notice from UPS and I'm almost afraid to look.

I have one bank which did the same. I had sign up for their services all over again and when I did forgot my password. (I don't generally record them.) In order to reset it I have to call the bank, instead I just go someplace else.

I've been in the software business for 35 years. As we tell people - "I just said it was an upgrade, I didn't say it was better."

What really sucks is most of the changes they make to web sites is to take advantage of the latest browser capabilities and back end technology...which only make them (sites) display worse (or not at all) on older browsers...!

I still have not let my I-Phone update in about three years. Allowed it once and learned my lesson.

Pisses me off, that more and more sites insist on asking you if you will allow cookies. I just EXIT. I guess soon, I will say to helll with ALL of it. It's going beyond being worth the trouble, hassle, irritation, time and expense. Just live a (simpler) life surounded by things I am in control of.

It's getting to the point that if you don't accept cookies you may as well toss your computer.

I'm almost at that point now. Search engines are almost useless, instead of what you ask for they give you 3 pages of sponsored garbage. It wasn't so long ago that if you needed to look something up you could go to the yellow pages; now if you try to find where to buy a loaf of bread it will give you the names and locations of ten wheat farms in Slovakia.

I wish they would stop making things bigger as an improvement. I don't need a pickup the same size as a 1940's school bus.

Every time I see an ad for an improvement, I wonder why they didn't make it right the first time.

That's why I bought my Colorado. It's almost as big as the F150s I drove years ago, with more payload and towing power. Also about 10K less than a full sized truck, and halfway decent fuel economy, if I keep my foot out of the carburetor.

AND FASTER! Our speedlimts for the most part are painfully slow. Like buying a 500HP Turbocharged tractor to pull a milk wagon.

Also bugs me that when searching for a manufacturer, all manner of dealers and of course AMAZON shows up before you ever find it. Let me find out the product I want first and worry about where to get it afterwards.

I mean, that really is becoming the obvious issue in this Digital revolution. That everyone is going to insane lengths to capture your attention.

The guy that owns that FANCY F150 sitting outside my door and I decided that it should be driven to keep the brakes working, but I am embarrassed to drive this gaudy thing. I feel like a PIMP. Only thing missing is white walls! Realized yesterday ist has folding mirrors (stupid considering they are quite small) and a heated steering wheel. Ridiculous! But I couldn't figure out how to operate the HVAC system! So I just gave up, rather than hitting a tree or something! Give me a fan speed knob and a heat level knob!
