DOUBLE THUMBED HUSKER GLOVES

:laughing:U dont realize just how cheap I am David, it works fine with regular socks too if the bottoms are worn down a bit at least in xtratuffs, probably not in real boots or shoes.

Cardinal rule in Kodiak is no shoes inside so the socks take a beating!

:laughing::laughing::laughing:
Rick, You are KILLING ME!
:laughing::laughing::laughing:

The rule at my house has been "no shoes in the house" for over 20 years! Ever since I paid for the first re-carpet job!!!!

My wife says I am so cheap that there is a tawdry ethnic joke in me somewhere (but I'm too cheap to let it go!).

I have t-shirts that are well over 20 years old!

And when the socks start getting bare/thin spots they go to the "Work Clothes" pile where when I am done with a dirty job I can decide if it is worth washing them or just throwing them away!

Sounds like we could be BROTHERS!!!!

Hey brother:D
When you come to Kodiak dont bring any of your 20 yr old t shirts, have we got a deal for you! One of the few good shopping deals here is at our thrift store you can get a large garbage bag full of cotton t shirts for 5 bucks, we go thru the new bags and pull out the good shirts and the rest are for rags

Wonder if the shirts have the double arm holes.

... a cruel joke to play on your hitch-hiker friends, or in the days or old in Greece, in the Collesium!

I HAVE NEVER SEEN THESE, (and I could have gone all day w/o seeing them too! ) :D

There is also a husking knife that fit in the palm of the hand to seperate the husk from the ear. (Still have mine)

Hey thanks a million for that connection. Cool to find just a place to find American made gloves.

Our Amish neighbors been needing these two thumb huskers. I've worn them for years myself. You get double wear out of them plus you know how you'll lose a glove and then your pair is shot? Not with these babies. Too bad we can't find them in the yellow flannel like we used to get.

I have some old two thumb mittens and Mrs. took apart for pattern so we make them ourselves out of denim with a flannel liner. Real handy. :D

Actually it's called a husking hook. :) There are several different styles. My granddad always used a husiking peg instead of a hook.

How you all got from husking gloves to sox and shirts ????

Anyway, just two cents worth. The best work sox and the only ones I've worn for 24 years are hand made on a circular knitting machine. Find someone who makes and sells these socks and they're the best boot sock you'll ever own and if you have three pairs so you can be wearing a clean pair all the time, those three pairs of socks will last you for 8 or ten years. It's dirt that will ruin the sock but a hand made sock is fantastic if it's been made with a knitting machine.

Hand knitted socks knit with needles by hand are bulky and too warm to wear in summer. I have a lady I buy my socks from for four bucks a pair but I see you can buy them on Ebay.
