The MMO may have just ran out of an open intake valve...if the machine was running when it was parked there is no reason for it not to run now with a little catch up maintenance...

if it turns over and has fire...give it a shot of fuel and kick it over...
buy a case of grease and a box of new jerk fittings...may need to heat a few things up...

will be an interesting thread...good luck

BTW...try Irfanview to size down your pics...simple to use and far and away the best free image software ever...!

Hey thanks. I have the carb all pressure washed and torn apart. Should have that together soon. Got a set of plugs too.

I tried that IRfanview, man that is a confusing site. I couldn't get it to work for me. I'll try for another photo hosting site.

I'm hardly computer savy and have little patience for it. But I have been using Irfanview for a very long time with no issues at all.

Well, I hope you get it running. Lots of Cletrack stuff in our area, including a collector/restorer here in the mtns.

Several years ago I was attempting to help a friend restore this old 1930 Cat 20. The carb was a beautiful bronze Ensign unit with brass fitting. What a work of art. I restored it (photo), but never got to see it working.

Sadly, the friend died and this unit got taken to the scrap yard.

I would have loved to own that.

It just amazes me how totally functional such tools used to be. IF you are really interested, I would say go for it. But it will be thing, after thing, after thing that has to be addressed. If it were me, I would try and sell it to a dedicated collector and hopefully visit it, running some day. There would be joy in that for me. I don't need to own it for that.
I.T., I'll fiddle around with it for a little while. If it doesn't work out I can leave it right back where I found it. Lol. I get a kick out of this old stuff, it amazes me how some guys get this stuff going after many years of sitting. I COULD use this machine on our property if I can get it somewhat decent.

Irfanview is not a hosting site...it is image manipulation software that is very powerful and very easy to use and it is 100% free...The developer has turned down millions and millions of dollars to commercialize and he will not do it...it remains free...

Just download and install the appropriate version and the plugins (if you want the full power) and install...spend a few minutes looking at the drop down menus...very mellow learning curve...

That starter is just like the old Ford starters with one wire to it.
There is also the old foot starter switch on the trans in the pic.
I like the big pics!! :)

I would jump on that project and NEVER let a scrapper near it!
They aren't making Old Iron anymore.
I would pull out the plugs and check for rust then oil in the cylinders.
Hook up a battery and bump the starter if there is no rust.
I rescued an 8N and 9N from the woods 15 years ago and got both of them running and useable.
Sold them and broke even but don't regret it.
Funny how they controlled the blade with the brackets and cylinders.
In the ARMY I drove an old D-9 with 12' blade for 2 weeks and it had the blade cable controlled with a lever for cable up/down.
I thought that was primitive but it worked!

I like old stuff too.
My three Fords tractors are,... 67, 49, and 29 years old. I have a 60K Rabbit 5 spd. diesel PU that is 37 years old. All are in pristine condition.
But...... what should the OP do if the Oliver under carriage is already nearly worn out?
Parts are to be found where? At what cost?

Sound like another great project for a man who likes a challenge and the price is right.

I have been able to get Model A's that have sat outside for decades running... was kind of amazed at one...

Did a compression check and one cylinder had none... left outside in country where it freezes... but it ran and I drove it...

Made up a little peanut can gas tank and keep a spare coil on hand plus jumper cables and starting fluid...

Still have not seen all the pictures... loading times out with my DSL

Pretty much and more all the time... kind of amazing the cottage industry that developed.

What I have done for not so common vehicles is find a parts car... it can really pay off during the restoration and what you don't need can be sold online...

I confess... most of my restorations predate the internet... and YouTube... It was word of mouth, dedicated car clubs, swap meets and Hemmings...
