Jim, I got to drill a few holes this weekend and it work good. I say good and not fantastic because when you hit hard rock no amount of down force is going to get it without a rock bit on the end.
Now when I hit that hard clay, tree root or soft sand rock it helped a bunch. Just add some down force and when it started biting again back off and let it do it's thing.
I think I do need to spend the $$ on a rock bit as I have run into a lot of rocks on the property. Any reccomendations on where to buy?
I agree that if you have a high flow for the return the fill port would be the best place to tap into for the return.
