The land that I bought in 2008 is on the only 1 mile gravel (Alabama red clay mud to be more precise) section of a nearly 20 mile county road, and we are not at the end of the road. There is another section about 1/2 mile down the road that starts being paved again!! Once we start building, I am going to petition the county commission to finish paving it. There are about 5 other families on this 1 mile stretch.

We once had a similar situation in the next county over. The part that was not paved ran through "Indian Land" and therefore created an issue with paving it. The road is called Moccasin Trail and I guess they wanted it to remain authentic to it's name! Anyway, it's since been paved but still has the same name.
