what you are finding was true with my search. My NH quotes were rediculous....................3-5,000 over other comperable machines. The explaination of, "well, they are just better.." is not an answer at all to explain the exorbitant price difference

This is not true through out the country. In my case both Kubota and John Deere were out of the ball park. No bash against Kubota but the Kubota dealer was arrogant and thought no one knew how to make a compact other than Kubota. Kubota is a good tractor and I would not be afraid to buy one, the dealer just turned me off. New Holland beat the others by 2k. And since my purchase he has been the one of the best companies I ever dealt with. Even other TBN members have ordered parts from them and had them shipped to them.

Drew, since your bio says you have a Kioti I will tell you why I didn't even look at a Kioti and even if they were 5k less than the New Holland I would not have bought one.

First the Kioti doesn't have a dealer within 180 miles of my place .
Second the Kioti was about 500 pounds heavier than the New Holland which would be good for loader work but terrible for mowing.

Third, I liked the ergonomics on the New Holland over any other tractor.

So for me paying more for the New Holland and having all of it's features would have been worth more to me.

Just my opinion, everybody has a reason for what they like.

Re: Down to 3 CUT\'s. Thanks for those who gave me

Its funny how dealerships and prices vary. The NH dealer here absolutely blew me off. I'm sure I was asking some dumb questions, but good grief, a salesman ought to love a newbie with money in his pocket. NH also didn't seem to have a basic gear drive model. They were all pretty fancy and considerably more expensive than JD 990 and Kubota L4400. These were the only dealerships nearby. The JD dealership was fine and I'd have given the 990 a much closer look, but the 3 year financing deal at JD expired. I later bought a mower from them.

The Kubota dealership has been in the area for years. The salesman was young and was a go-getter without being pushy. He returned my calls. He worked with me on the price. Got parts in quickly (he drove to a dealer in another state to get my rear remote in the time I wanted it) and had the tractor delivered in another county for free. All that and the 3 year 0% sold me. Plus the extra power and simplicity of the 4400 appealed to me.

It really makes you wonder why some dealerships don't seem to get it.

George,

Your absolutly right. Some dealers just don't understand what it takes to be a sales person. There is all kinds out there. And that is why most people here will say dealer is more important than brand.

Re: Down to 3 CUT\'s. Thanks for those who gave me

Dealer support became VERY important in my decision. I have decided to go with the Kioti CK30. It has everything I want, looks better than the Kub, and was less expensive than the comparable tractors. Also, the dealer/salesman is very supportive and has helped me with a number of issues.
