Downloadable John Deere Implement Operating Manuals

I was searching the web last night for a "Parts Manual" for my 71 Flexi Planter hoping to find a downloadable pdf version somewhere. All I found were printed manuals "for sale" or a "CD" version and not a single John Deere downloadable version. Prices varied between $2.00 and $53.95 for the manual I was looking for. One guy wanted $20.00 just to mail it. I don't mind paying for a manual but hate wating for the mail. Does anyone know if John Deere cares if someone scans their old, out of print manuals and shares them (at no cost) with owners of these implements?

Yetter company made them for JD, so you might be able to get the parts you need through other sources?

Just register at www.jdparts.com for free, then search the model #, in your case just 71.

Thanks for the links guys. I already have the Operators Manual as it came with the planter. I was looking for the "John Deere 71 Flexi Planter Parts Manual" part #PC1001. I find a printed manual is much better than the one on John Deere's web site. I had already downloaded the one form Yetters website but it again is the operators manual.

Just register at www.jdparts.com for free, then search the model #, in your case just 71.

After spending more time viewing John Deere's online jdparts.com site I found that they actually have the entire parts catalog for the 71 planter online page by page. It takes a little while but all you have to do is scroll down the parts listing and print each page with Illustration and Keylines to a pdf file. Now merge all the pdf's into a new single pdf file and now your have a handy pdf parts catalog.

Took me around an hour to complete. Now I have a pdf version and a printed version. Not as nice as the original parts catalogue but it's seems to be complete.

So for you guys looking for a JD parts catalog just register at jdparts.com and build your own.
