I still have a couple gallons of Tricloroethane 111. Non flammable degreaser designed to degrease or put you in a coma and bring on cancer. Guys at the LWS I worked at used it to de-grease cylinders. Of course they are long gone after mysteriously dying of cancer and respiratory failure. Stuff was magic on grease though.

yes, that trichlor was amazing stuff. I worked with a guy who years before had fabricated the first control panel for a TV studio, might have been KTVU in Oakland. anyway the panel was slanted and designed to fit in a corner. When he pulled it out of the trichlor tank it acted like a funnel and dumped a couple of gallons right into his lap...he still lived to be about 76, still miss him, RIP Lowell!

My first exposure to it was my first metalworking trade show in Anaheim about 1974...walked by one of the cleaners, saw that cloud of vapor just hanging there. so what did 19 yr old me do? Stuck my hand in the cloud..it came out white as a sheet because all the skin oils were stripped right off.Still cancer free at 65 today...

Nasty stuff. Also known as Crown Safety Solvent. Turned out to be a lot less than safe. Stuff killed the ozone 10x more than anything else. Anyone want to buy a couple gallons?

Yo ya might just want to hide it er drop it off at somebody's place you don't like cause approved disposal cost you half de house.

Trichloroethylene (or trichlor) is an excellent solvent used in a variety of degreasing and cold cleaning applications, as well as other special applications. Available for shipment in barges, tank trucks, tank cars and ships, the following grades of trichlor are offered: Degreasing and general solvent grade for heavy-duty vapor degreasing.

Stuff drycleaners use is Perchlorethelene. Got more Chlors in it I guess.
