Micman, I recently purchased a plow for my 2544. Below is a quote of my post on another forum:
"I used the blade yesterday to spread about 4 yards of gravel over my lower driveway. It went much better than I expected, and the blade didn't trip under the load. I later tested the blade against a protruding rock to make sure it would trip when appropriate, and it did. No damage other than a very small scratch (I went really slow). The blade is very stout, much thicker than the blade for the 1000/1500's. Plus it has those reinforcing ribs on the back. Raising and lowering both require only a little effort.
I
raised and lowered the blade probably 40+ times while spreading the gravel, and it didn't tire me out at all.
Swinging the blade left to right was effortless as well.
.
This is how I want my Blade to lift lower and turn!
Presumably that'll be dependant on how well the pivot point stays lubricated. Below are pictures showing some detail of the blade."
BTW, the dealer put the wrong stickers on when he replaced the hood, hence the "2542" on my 2544.
