The JD 8100 griinder is a really neat setup - looks like it will chew up a big stump in minutes. The first issue is finding one, then the concern would be in rocks embedded in the stumps comprimising blade life, then last how would it work on 40" butts - I suppose they have a larger blade or make multiple "drills" but this is very cool indeed.

The other video appears to core the stump - maybe 18" - again it has its place I suppose but for big stumps its a multi core job it would appear.

All true and it takes a pretty big tractor. They all look to be 150 hp or better and still get knocked around a little. But it's even quicker than an excavator, you don't have to transport/burn stumps, and it looked like tou can clear a pretty big area pretty quickly. I saw even bigger versions than the ones I posted that can do bigger stumps. Also I would think the corer one could do any size stump if you took multiple cores but with that one you still have to dispose of the cores........

A little specialized and probably tought to find someone who has one of these but this would do the trick
