Need to have a brother that has a dealership, then you can just threaten not to talk to him anymore....unless the prices get a little more reasonable. Hey worked for me, but then....we haven't talked in 20 years!! /w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif I got rid of the motorcycle too!

Some parts seem high , then others surprise me with a low price. The big complaint is the # of back orders. Like my latest, a blade belt for a 54" BX deck that was defective! I wonder if Kubota would pay my cost to have the yard mowed?

Funny story (unless you're the guy paying the bill), A few months back I ordered a seal for the drive motor on an R520 wheel loader, parts guy says that's a 300 dollar seal, what's it made out of? So I say no way, I just replaced one of these a few months ago on another guys machine and I know it was only(I use the word only loosely) like 110 bucks. So we double check the price book and the price is "right" 300 bucks. So we pull up the history on the other guys machine, geuss what 110 bucks for the seal. So parts guy calls Kubota to find out what the deal is and is basically told "we were'nt charging enough for it, hence the price increase"./w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif I thought the price of that seal was a little on the high side when it was 110 bucks (probably why it stuck in my head) but then they jacked it up to 300 bucks, holy cow!!!!!! Hmmmmm, I wonder if investing in Kubota parts could be a sweet deal??? Kinda like beany babies./w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

How about a 20 page shop manual for a BX FEL for $34.95. And the copy job is not so great.

Part prices are outrageous. I lost a threaded bolt for my folding ROPS. Kubota's price was $57 for a 5/8" bolt 5" long. Bought my own for $2.75 and welded on a D-ring for 75 cents. Went to a going-out-of business auction last week and bought 2 new draft control kits for $2.50 each. Called Kubota for price - $397 each! I didn't really need them but for the price how could I go wrong.

Ok so I go to the dealer for an oil filter for my B7500 and starts to tell me about his financing terms. But seriously anyone identify a good non Kubota oil filter for a B7500.

Not sure how good they are, 'cuz I just flat-out don't know, but NAPA Auto Parts seems to have a nice selection of Kubota equivalents.

Having said that, I have been cautioned, by Brian (allmobile), I believe, that the NAPA air filter for my L2500 won't seal as well as the Kubota part, which means harmful particles of crud could slip past it and into the system.

I'm guessing the oil and fuel filters are okay, but maybe Brian or one of the other experts can tell us better.

Harv, I just don't see the cost savings of taking a chance on an aftermarket filter or part. I've seen some pretty bad replacement stuff and don't trust it. Not just at work, my personal vehicles and equipment get the factory stuff too. May cost a little more but it makes me feel comfortable. I'm not saying all aftermarket stuff is bad, I'd just rather not take the chance.

I hear you, but sometimes when I have to choose between a 15-minute trip to NAPA and a 90-minute trip to the nearest Kubota dealer, I tend to take the easy way out. This is a never-ending source of frustration for me, in fact. Not only am I a far piece from a Kubota dealer, but I am 120 miles from my tractor, which in turn is even FARTHER from a Kubota dealer than I am. Add to that the fact I currently have no way of hauling it myself, and I am pretty paranoid about any pending incidents where I have to take 'er in.

For example, the warranty on my loader is up next month, and I seem to have a little oozing around the control valves, but I doubt I'm going to spend the hundreds of dollars to have it taken to the dealer and back just for that. /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif

Hey, Brian (if you are listening)! Can I order parts through All Mobile, or does that not fit in your business plan?

I checked the prices at Tractorsmart They want less than $5.00 each for Engine and HST filter. I don’t think I would be using any other than Kubota filters. Other filters like air and fuel are more. But cost does not appear to be to high on B7500.
