Lot of post's on here about how stupid it is to worry about your tractor going into regen , but it's only stupid if it's not your tractor, I don't own a tractor that needs to regen so I can't say, but I did work out of a 125' hi line bucket truck that was mounted on a Peterbilt semi with a Paquar engine and we had trouble with it every few weeks going into limp mode and having to do forced regen's so it left a bad taste in my mouth with the whole works because in the other 34 years of me doing my job working out of bucket trucks , log skidders, rough terrain cranes etc, all powered with diesel engines we rarely ever had an issue with a diesel engine, they were workhorse's , not setting around in limp mode. Lastly, if man lives in a place to where he can be told that he can't own a wood stove to build a fire in to warm his azz, he needs to get the hell out of there, plenty of places where you can still have a wood stove and build a fire.
Well, at least everyone understands the frustration with all these forms of regen. It was a nice idea but the implementation is a absolute catastrophe IMHO.. I hate every minute I am sitting idle looking like a fool in the middle of the forest waiting to get back to work....Its what happens when you let ideology run rampant with no restraint, you are forced to buy into the 'earth first' agenda and all the legislation in the name of 'the environment', but then who cares what happens to the end user, certainly not the perpetrators of this imposition..

I knew the regeneration cycle would be happening as I kept away from the larger diesels as my buddy burnt two engines up on his trucks. But the regeneration lights come on, right as I am in the middle of something, or it starts beeping and I have to stop immediately out in the field and find a empty spot to regenerate so I dont set the whole forest on fire. This is nuts...
This is why I can never buy a new tractor, or anything really. I am sick to death of things I paid for telling me what to do and when to do it.

Better renounce your citizenship then as well because you've been paying the government right along (taxes) for them to tell you what to do. 😳

No, you have to put it in park or it wont start the regen cycle, and if you just rev up, it cant be used for any work at that high a rev, Ive tried it...

Get rid of the JD then and buy something different, or just run your Kubota. I have the same 3301 and as others have said, I rarely even know when it's gone into regen. I always thought the 790 was one of John Deere's better compacts. Then again I didn't realize they made them recently enough to have DPF.

Do your research and only buy what meets your needs. New Holland (2015 til) has auto regeneration with no assistance needed from operator. That sold me!
