Yeah Masseys are not cheap. One other thing I don't like about Massey is that when you get the 1760M that is replacing the 1759, you can't get a hydro on the open station and you have to use Cat 2 implements. However on the cab it has Cat 1 - stupid if you ask me.

What I don't understand is that if manufacturers can meet emissions requirements without a DPF and a regen, why not go that route like Massey is doing with the Shibaura engine.

Don't understand reference to mandatory CAT 2 implements.?? Simply use a reduced bushing. My MX is cat2, before purchasing Pat's quick hitch, I just used the bushings. CAT 1 implements work fine using The bushing.

The DOC catalyst emissions must be developed and tested by each individual Engine producer. This is an expensive process. The DOC uses more aggressive EGR which some folks feel is harmful to cylinder liners. DPF is the easier path to compliance.

RK did not offer HST on their 55 hp open station but they have now seen the light, revised the specification. Massey will also if demand is demonstrated.

Deere Utility R series and up, Bobcat Corp, Mahindra also use DOC now, instead of DPF. Maybe others?

Both routes have positives and negatives. DPF route is cleaner and greener, but uses fuel to do a regen. DOC/EGR will lead to more soot in the intake, EGR issues, not as clean emissions. Go to the Mahindra forum and look at the EGR problems they were having on brand new tractors. Mahindra is on their 4th or 5th update for the emissions. Even some gasoline powered cars made today have Gasoline Particulate Filters (GPF) on them. Direct Injection gas engines produce a lot of particulates.

Didn't know they had bushings so you can use Cat 1 implements. I guess Massey feels that the 1760m is the crossover point to the full size tractors so maybe that is why they just offer the power shuttle. Power shuttle might be ok, but seems like more to tear up and then you still have to use the lever just not clutching.
