Great info guys, I've been leaning toward a McCormick myself, love the rear 3pt lift lever and the other features. I started out looking at the Kubota B series, then started looking at lift ratings closer realized I'd come up short. Now looking at the 55+ hp range. I'll have to take a ride up to MIE, sounds like good dealer.

What Coobie said!
Never been there but have bought a bunch of stuff by 'mail'. Any issues are dealt with in a satisfactory way for all concerned.

Murph, you're welcome re: the squeal issue.

Dog, Try 4x4 low range and step on the pedal by your left foot to engage the diff lock and you'll be moving your shrubs and maybe your house if not paying careful attention.
Also what IT said: a grapple or bucket will often do what you seek to do.
Are you using the Ratchet Rake sold at TSC? If so, what do you like/hate about it?

BTW, you'll get used to placement of the cup holder- I find I just reach back with my right arm and find it without looking. It takes some skill- read 750 hours or so:laughing:

Catskinner, buy the DK-55, you will be more than pleased.

K0ua and log, forget the comparisons of money and time, everyone makes mistakes...:) your Kioti machines will surpass your expectations and then you will forget about the money- life is short, enjoy the ride....

What I was meaning about the R4s is I have to get used to the reduced traction. I have always had and used AG tires. As the countless threads debating tires can attest the AGs have the best traction. I decided to get R4s this time to try and stop the ground from looking like a bombed out no-mans-land. I just have to spend a little more seat time to learn the limits. I was losing traction sooner than I was expecting. Its no big deal. Like I said, just need more seat time :)

I was using the ratchet rake from TSC. I am really happy with it. It works great on thick stuff with shallow roots. The only knock is I haven't quite figured out how to get it to rip out thin sparse stuff. I think its a case or operator error though.

I'm coming back in 750 hours and holding you to the cupholder thing!

Ldog,
I get that you were loosing traction, due in part to the new type of tires and in part lack of experience with the Kioti's particulars; therefore I'm suggesting some ways to hold your ground without any adverse effects on your yard while you go for your 750 hr certificate!:D
Hint: if you skip meals, take very few bathroom breaks, and sleep under the tractor, you'll get there sooner!!

Ah ha! I get it, laying down! Under the tractor, so I can focus on upkeep and maintenance and the mud dripping in my face:D

Have you put anything on the 3pt yet and tried to raise it slowly?:)
I am hoping that the DK will be some better than ole "jerky":)

James K0UA

Any fix for that? The 3PH jerkiness on my LK3054xs is pretty bad.
