Draft Control

Thanks for the detailed explanation. I thought I had the concept of draft control figured out but your explanation made it much more clear. I don't have the $$$ to add this feature to my tractor so I guess I will rough it out on the project I have been working on. Sure would make the job a lot easier if I had it, though.

Not to take away from your "revelation" at all, but I think this part of your description is a little misleading. If you have your position control set well below the level your box blade is scraping, the blade will "dive down" when you hit soft ground. However, if the postion control is set so that you are smoothing the surface and the weight is supported by the lift arms, the position control will not let the box blade drop. All that being said, it is very difficult to produce a perfect surface because the tires on the tractor will sink in to loose soil and your boxblade will follow because it is just set to a relative position.

I'd love to see the draft control used as you described. That would make it a really useful addition/option to have. Does the TN come with draft control standard? On my TC45D the parts and repair manual show it as a pretty simple device, but I haven't priced it yet.
