Dragon 274

I am looking at a Dragon 274 tractor for sale locally. From what I can find it is a Lenar 274 and they are no longer in business or where acquired by somebody. The tractor has front axle problems but is still in use in 2wd. The price is almost to good to pass up and it has a working front end loader. My question is, are there any current suppliers for parts for this tractor? You can find some stuff on Allibaba (like a global ebay) but are there stateside suppliers? Any thoughts on this tractor? Good, Bad or Terrible? Seems to run well and the loader works pretty good. I don't mind searching for parts or working on stuff. Sometimes that is more than half the fun. Just curious if parts are just hard to come by or impossible to come by.

I will take that lack of replies as a sign that nobody knows anything about them. Oh well I bought it anyway. I now think it is a Kama or Taishan tractor as it has the TS symbol on the hood. It runs and drive pretty good everything works but sometimes the front wheels will bind in 4wd. I will post some pictures shortly. If I cant make it work you can contact me for nice parts. ; )

For engine parts you might be able to cross parts to misc industrial diesels ie light plants, air compressors, generators, etc. If you don't mind me asking, how much was "too good to pass up"?

I hate to give away the secrete in case I need to unload this on somebody. :laughing: Just kidding of course. I gave $2300 for it. I figure the loader is worth that.

Between the wheels/tires and the loader I don't think you can loose. Do you need the 4wd? Or just would like it because it's there?

I really don't need 4wd but I like to search for stuff. It gets me through the day.

That plant was bought by Mahindra, they currently make the Mahindra 2525, parts are hard to come by.

How about any books or manuals? Do you know if they are to be had? Or something close.

Also if anybody knows what other tractor it shares parts with. I see a lot of TS254 and TS300 tractors stuff on the web but not much 274. It has got to share some stuff with these tractors. Anybody have any knowledge of that? I would suspect mainly engine differences in them.

Just to add a little info to these posts. If you know what your tractor is (brand and size) then Alibaba is the Chinese Ebay for these tractors. I have had really good luck sourcing gaskets and other parts from them. Shipping can be slow at times but I have gotten everything I ordered so far.

as of this post I have received everything I need from Masters farm supply. the only issue I had with them is they shipped by UPS
when I requested USPO. very high shipping costs
a tech school made up a part I need to make the spare hydraulic pump work
