Drainage problem

I'm no longer in Trinity, TX...made the move to Creal Springs, IL. Now, I just need to recover from the move. The grass is soooooo green and lush here compared to the drought areas in Texas. Really different to mow, and not contend with dust.

One thing I need to do with this new place is fix a drainage problem in front of my barn. I've thought of just cutting a trench in the blacktop deeper than I want, then packing blacktop top patch back in to the right level. Putting that in the seam going away from the puddle. I've not really worked with blacktop before, so open to ideas.

How would you fix. Lost cost solution is what I want to here about.

Surface drain, trench, pipe to away point, granular backfill and finish with asphalt.

Might freeze in winter.

That would work, it is a little bit of work though.
Looks like you only need a little help there. Something like a channel 1 inch deep and an inch or 2 wide.
saw cut it, then you would have to chisel out the middle, a little power chipping hammer would help. Then if it looked ugly or very uneven, some type of smooth driveway patching material could be used to finish the little surface swale/trench evenly.

That would be a good fix provided there is one low point in the puddle and he has the topography to support a drain to daylight somewhere not to far away.
Would not be expensive, but would be a little labor intensive.

If the blacktop has gravel underneath it, you could just drill a hole down to the gravel at the deepest point of the puddle.

Think about 1" diameter and you may have to clean it every once in a while, but that is very inexpensive.

If I was in Il. I would want to eliminate that skating rink. There looks to be a 'seam' or cracking all the way across the drive about 6 feet out from the building. Could you put in a U drain? It looks like the land sloops away over by the tractor for an easy exit.
