Does my 2010 3520 have the red float? I drained out mine last nite without any problems but I didn't see a red float.

Look on the bottom of the sediment filter (the plastic cup below the fuel shutoff) and you'll see a red ring on the bottom of the cup. This is where you want to see it.

Yes, a 2010 3520 has the red ring that floats on water. At least mine does and it's nowhere near floating.:)

So you see the red ring sitting near the bottom of the bowl? My diesel fuel is non highway red dyed so I'm quessing thats why I don't see it. After I drained it out and started the tractor (self-priming) i thot I saw a white ring float to the top as the fuel filled the bowl up again. I couldn't say for sure thats what it was.

I think I'm misunderstooding your post, I was thinking it was in the bottom of the bowl and it sounds like its on a filter that attaches to the part where the fuel shut-off is. Explain in detail just what makes up that whole unit. Thanks for your help.

Hopefully, these pictures will help you out. The red float ring rides up and down the post of the fuel sediment filter - number 11. As water gets into the bowl, the ring I believe rides on the fuel, which is lighter than water, and rises towards the top of the sediment bowl. As the ring rises, this gives you a visual cue that the sediment bowl needs to be drained. As water is drained off, the red float ring drops to the bottom of the bowl. At least that is how I understand it.
