Drawbacks of a tractor too large?

I was originally looking at a L3400 or possibly the L4400 to work some food plots on 600 acres. I wound up with the M4900 and am SOOOOOO glad I did. I also use it to work some wash outs over and fill other erosion areas. I have been very pleased with it's performance. I am actually leaving in the morning to put it to use tomorrow to cut and disk. Can't wait.

i had a 4330 hst cab for 3 years. on medium sized mowing jobs (10 acres or more) and on medium ground work (5 acres or more) it just took too much time. i decided to get a larger tractor for the medium and large jobs and keep the 4330 for smaller ones. was kind of afraid to give up hst. bought a m9000 cab in feb. liked it so much i used it on all jobs.even used it with tiller to work up garden spot this year. ride and comfort much better on bigger tractors. sold 4330 recently,just didn't use it. also got to start going to equipment auctions again for larger implements. you can buy a 12ft wheel disk cheaper than an 8ft.

Lets take a vote!...lol

A tractor is TOO LARGE..if...
1) You cant begin to afford to pay for it!!
2) You cant PHYSICALLY get it into where you want to use it!

I looked HARD at a Grand L30..couldnt get it in between 4 trees ( 2 sets of 2) that I HAVE TO..to be able to get it into the back yard where Im "working" ( termloosly used here..lol)

No barn yet! * sigh* for me...but at least now when it comes time to build an impliment shed..I know what I have to fit into it....

NOOOOOO...no no no...a thousand times NOPE!....lol I didnt buy 4 1/2 acres of big woods to cut the trees down...nope!

I must say I have laughed quite a bit when reading the responses. Seeing as how I still have to build a shed, and my lots are all open, I went with the M6040.

Neighbor came by yesterday, told me the only mistake I made was that my tractor was too small. I told him sarcasm will get him nowhere and if he keeps it up I will take the tractor over there, put it in low gear and pull his house down! He kept up for a little while, he actually farms a vineyard, personally, I just think he was trying to be funny but really had nothing nice to say. I think he was turning shades of green, that and the red face from all the 'grape-juice' he consumes he looked kind of like Christmas.

I love the tractor. The two front wheels have small dents in them, dealer said it was probably from shipping, and will take care of it. It is a really nice tractor. Not to knock the 4330, but I really like the 6040. I miss the hydro a bit, but I don't anticipate missing it for very long. Thanks for all the support.
