I'd like to attach a 2" receiver to my drawbar. I don't have a horizontal 3pt drawbar, I have the type that is parallel to the PTO shaft and slides into a receiver on the tractor rear end. It's a Kubota B2710 if that helps. I've looked for some gizmo that would either slide into the drawbar receiver and look like a 2" receiver on the other end, or would attach to the drawbar somehow and look like a 2" receiver. Anyone know if you can buy something like this?
thanks

You can get a 3ph drawbar for about $22 at TSC. That would probably be the easiest thing to do. Would the top of the 2" receiver hitch be attached to the top link? If not, then you need a method to stabilize the 3ph drawbar.

I chain my 3ph drawbar to the drawbar that runs parallel to the PTO shaft, to make sure it can't rise above the level of the rear axle and possibly flip the tractor. So it is good you have that drawbar also.

Mark, I don't know of any that you can just go buy, and now I've forgotten who it was who posted the pictures of his, but with just a little welding, you can certainly make one that works very well. Maybe the guy who posted the pictures will see this thread and respond.

Well, I did a quick search (like I should have done in the first place) and found it was Sheepman's design that I had in mind; a very good design you can see in his photos here.

Bird,
That's exactly what I'm looking for, just needed that picture to make me see what I really wanted to do. I do weld so I should be able to make up something pretty easy.
thanks

Check out this. . .Flexpoint 3-Point Hitch Adapter — Category 2-3 |3-Point Hitch Accessories | Northern Tool + Equipment

It's not as fun as building/welding your own but it sure would be functional and well-built!

Yes I've thought about buying a 3pt setup, but it's one more piece of equipment I have to store somewhere and it's pretty expensive. I'm mostly hauling small things when I use the receiver- I have a PTO generator on a small utility trailer, and I haul my cargo trailer back into the pasture once in awhile when I fill it with extra hay for the horses. But both of these are very light duty and not used very often.

Maybe this is more cost effective.

ASC # 61559 Handi Hitch

This is interesting. This is lighter and easier to hang up. The 3pt style solves the problem of getting the ball at the right height to get my generator trailer level. With a fixed receiver I have to use a drop down adapter. Our equivalent of ASC is Farm and Fleet. I think I'll check them out to see if they have something comparable.
thanks

When our old camping trailer wore out, the only thing we could find to replace it required a Class 3 receiver. When I replaced the class 1 on the truck, I used it to make a 3 point hitch model. I shortened it to fit my quick hitch, added a pair of class one pins and welded on an upright to use the top link on. Moves the trailer at low speed when I have to jockey it around to get access to the equipment behind it. I just used scrap out of the metal pile, so the cost was pretty low.
Something like the Easy Mover would work just as well.

You might want to check ebay, too, for those Handi Hitch types.

Yes, I stumbled across the manufacturer of the handi hitch on ebay. It's Redlandhill.com. They make them for each category hitch and a narrow version for cat 1. Thanks to everyone for the good advice.

Mark,
Pineridge posted a pic of his receiver welded to the drawbar but I dont know how to link you to it. If you look up his posts or pics you'll find it. Its not hard to do if you can weld or know someone who can. Just pick up a 2" receiver and have it welded to your drawbar. I chose to make a 3 pt. attachment for my receiver as shown.

Found Pineridge's pic will try to attach t&t.jpg

OK I'll bite. What's the deal with the ball mounted on top of what looks like a bicycle chain ring?

Mark, that top ball is for pulling a gooseneck trailer.

Mark,
Bird is right. I use the top ball for moving a gooseneck trailer around the yard. The gear you see is just a spacer to support the trailer. (Actually its an old chevy timing chain gear I had laying in the parts box.)

I didn't realize goosenecks used this kind of connection, I assumed there was a miniature version of a fifth wheel like on a semi.

I ordered the handi hitch from Agri-Supply. Seemed to fit the combination of requirements for me: light enough to hang on the wall, relatively cheap, allows me to easily adjust height of hitch.

Here's a picture of mine after I finished welding it. It's Kubota Orange now, and I primarilly use it for skidding logs, but it's the best thing around to move trailers in tight quarters.

It was a hitch for a Ford Van before. I just cut the frame mounts off both sides & welded a mast on (with a clevis & grab hook).
