( can I order the A frame from any dealer or do they have a web order service or ?
Steve )

My local dealer had them in stock.. was 20$ some odd dollars for the 2 uprights, a spacer bushing, and 3 bolts/nuts/washers

I use mine as a trailer tender.. back up to tounge.. lift up.. move trailer.. set down.. etc.. never even get of the tractor..

Here is a drawbar lock and stays installed on my old Jubilee. This is the "safe" setup for being sure the 3PH is fixed in place. Don't forget and try to raise the 3PH with this setup. You'll either pop the relief valve or bend the stays.

Just8n's sells a small chain and medalion and clip that you loop over and clip to the lift quadrant. It prevents the hytrol handle from moving up the quadrant. The medalios has some safety message on it about breaking lift parts if you raise the handle... I understand that it may not be a cheap item.. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I have lost my reciept to that item.. however it should be a stocked item at a CNH dealer. Just ask for a cat1 aframe kit that is bolted to the 3pt drawbar.. they will know what it is you want.

Soundguy (or anyone), do you have a part number for the frame setup? I went to my local CNH dealer and they gave me the deer in the headlights look. They said they would need more info. I like how the frame is set up. Any help would be great. Thanks

I took two pieces of flat stock bent them 90 degrees, drilled two holes that lined up with the holes on the drawbar then drilled a 3/4 inch hole at the top bolted the flat stock to the bar and then used the top link to keep the bar from turning. This method doesnt involve any welding and is pretty simple to make. ( This method is for people like me who have minimal mechanical skills)

Gemini, I like your approach. Simple plus gives a good place from which to run an "anit-rise" safety chain down and forward to the tractor's drawbar. Believe I might just steal your idea.

--- I copied this from a posting I made a few weeks ago --- One extra note: the TSC's up here in Canada don't seem to stock the same things as the US versions, and hence they don't carry the "stock" lock...and hence my alternate solution described below.

Hello all;
One of the first "implements" I bought for my new CUT (spring 2006) was a 7 hole drawbar. I am absolutely a newbie but when I saw the drawbar for $20 at TSC I knew it was just what I needed to pull my (max GVW) 1500lb trailer around the property. When I put it between the 3ph arms all seemed well until I I put the trailer on the ball and the whole thing swung upside down. I know this is a common problem because I looked for solutions and found that several of you have welded together drawbar locks or bought them at TSC. Well, I don't weld (yet...and please let's not start on the thread about "a guy with a tractor that doesn't weld????") and the TSC here had never heard of a drawbar lock, nor had my NH dealer where I bought the tractor. So I'd tried some things with stock angle brackets but they all bent out of shape quickly. Last week I was at my dealers and saw this U-bolt that looked about the right size. It was $16. I bought it on a chance...
The 3ph bar was about 1/16" too wide to fit in the "U" (see pics) so I had to angle grind a bit off the inside surface of the U-bolt, but other than that it worked great!
I just thought I'd share this in case anyone else was looking for a drawbar lock but didn't have access to the "real thing".

Reading this post has raised a question in my mind...when I first read about twising a drawbar I was wondering how in the world you would twist a drawbar. I am accustomed to just a straight drawbar out the back of the tractor that you can swing right, left, or slide in and out. Then I saw the pictures and now I ask do the new tractors not have a conventional drawbar? I wouldn't want to be hitching a clevis and chain up to my 3pt to be dragging logs.

Some new, and many old tractors don't have provisions for a swinging drawbar.
