What are you calling the LB. I have also thought about the conduit bringing in water to the building which is why I have decidied against putting my subpanel right at the exit of conduit. Could you expand more on the trap or drain you would do before bringing it in the building.
An LB is a conduit body to form an elbow. See this 1-1/2 in. LB Conduit Body-R5133667 - The Home Depot
Conduit coming in through the wall can go into an LB and then straight up. I tapped the bottom of the LB to run a small drain tube. If I had known I would have come up with something outside the wall to trap the water and drain it. Maybe a T body (similar to an LB) with a short drop and a perforated cap to release water to the footer.

There are proper products that are used to seal conduit connections.

Those seals and compounds' are normally used for hazardous locations, not moisture plus they need to be used with ridged threaded conduit, to just prevent moisture duct seal and a drain in an LB or an open ended tee will work

Ok I understand and I will be trenching this 20" deep and I will be coming up 12" to enter into the concrete wall. I will put a T on the vertical rise of 12" with a perforated cap to eliminate any water they may try to enter the structure within the conduit? I will not have any standing water at this area because it is all crushed stone 8' down to the draining tiles.

Also I realize the conduit going straight into the sub-panel is not necessary. I will bolt a couple of 2x4 flat to the concrete wall and nail a piece of plywood to the 2x4's and then mount my sub-panel. So the panel will be out from the wall about 2". If any water comes through the conduit it will drain down the wall and not into the panel.

Thanks guys I appreciate the advice you gave me. Rick

A few more questions. Which way should I pull the wire? If you can picture a boomerang this is what the trench will look like. It will then enter the 8" concrete wall. Should I pull from inside the concrete building to the house panel or from the house panel to the concrete building. It will be about 170' pull.

Also is there a way to lay the conduit to keep from the wire from hanging up. The conduit has built in connectors or bells. Do you want the wire to enter the bell first or exit the bell. Thanks Rick

Well I trenched the ditch and put down the conduit and pulled the wire to the concrete building. If I 90 to the right and then 90 to the left and go out two feet I can then 90 down and then 90 into the building through the wood frame front. This would eliminate any holes drilled thru concrete. Here is a pic. I would remove the small piece of retaining wall cap and run it along side the building. What do you guys thing. Bore the hole or go around to front.

Remember that you can only make 360 degrees of bends between J-Boxes. 4 - 90 degree bends or the equivalent.

What tool were you able to use to drill that diameter?
