Has anyone heard if the driver over decks are out for a 3000 series tractor?? Are they compatible with the cab tractor?? I am considering a 3320 cab with a drive over deck mmm. Anyone think this should be a problem??

I don't think there should be an issue as long as you stay with the MMM compatible R4s and R3's. I have Turf Specials and i hear that is not a good Idea with the 3x20 series OnRamp MMM that are coming oput next month? Also, I wonder what they will cost in comparison to a normal hook it up MMM?

You would think that the drive over would be built for turfs? Why would it not work Nuru?

Apparently one of the keys to the deck handling the tracktor weight is that the tires need to roll over a specific path on the deck, the Turf Specials are wider than the normal R3 turfs, so the potential for weight being applied to points on the deck that are not supposed to have with directly on them is possible.

Gotcha... One would think that JD would build it for turfs....

I am going back and forth on the MMM or the 3 point finish mower.... No matter what, I need a second mower for the area over the septic tank. So being able to get it on and off fast would be an advantage for me. So I am leaning to the 3 point...

it works for the normal R3 Turfs, but the wider Turf specials it might not. So it is built for R4s and the R3 Normal turfs.

Do a search on threads by "Runner", and you will find his good comparison between using the JD mmm, and a RFM. I was a little surprised that he ended up liking the RFM better overall, and his comments are well worth reading. He is using a 2520 but I doubt that makes much difference.

I would agree, just bigger.

Hi:

JD technically states they don't even support the 'Super Turfs' with MMM's. (Weird I know, but that's their story and they are sticking by it).

I'm not sure I understand the appeal to the drive over ramps. Your going to have to shuffle the deck somewhere anyway, right? If not I'd understand but if you have to move it anyway the regular decks are fine.

To the previous point about a RFM. I have a 72" 7 Iron MMM on my 3720 and switched to an 84" RFM (I still have the MMM and use it for Material collection/leaves). I run loaded R3's. My initial reason was to not have to deal with the pain of removing/installing the MMM every time I wanted to take it off to do some serious loader work. (It's a pain in the A#$ on the 3720 compared to the 62C on the 2305). You can do it, but it's a lot more work than on the smaller tractors.

After using the 84" RFM I can tell you 1 thing that's great about the RFM.... NO TIRE TRACKS!!!! I'm running 6" extensions (each side) on my 3720 with WIDE turfs and with the MMM when I mow I leave behind flattened grass (not dug up, just flattened). With the RFM it 'sucks up' the grass when it cuts it and I never drive over it again so it looks very nice. With the MMM, even though the Deck covers the tires width, Once the rear tires hit the grass again you'll flatten it out.

I have a Rear discharge and my only complaint is that I'd like a mulch kit since I can't direct the discharge like the side discharge MMM.

Yes that is their story but if you have seen my thread, I run them (Turf specials) on my 3520 with a 2006 7 Iron MMM and it works fine. I was on my unit for 3 hours and most of that was running with the MMM going and on slopes and flats. No interference problems.
