Since I made this statement I need to make sure the option is clear to everyone. These are regular 4wh drive models where the rear drive can be disengaged to improve/tighten the steering radius. They are NOT 2wh drive models with only front wheel drive. The front drive only is intended for maneuvering the tractor in tight spaced and not to do any heavy work. Seem to recall the tractor was an F series.did you ever do any research or find anything about the front drive only models ? Thats an interesting tidbit, would like to see what models came that way....
The one I drove looked like every other Yanmar of the same model but had an additional lever to disengage the rear drive. Yanmar offered a lot of options you rarely see here as well as implements. Ernie had a Yanmar tiller with a shuttle mechanism. By moving a lever the tiller could be shifted either left or right on the go. Sure made it nice for getting up close to things like fences and such. Also recall a model Ernie had that had side by side seating.
