I stole the PT design of the driveway edger, the single disc design. A week ago I picked up a single worn out disc from the farmer down the road. It was still 13" which seemed fine for an edger. I made and welded a bushing onto the disc and used an old mower spindle for the shaft. Bought some 1.5" square tube and made something like the PT edger, accept it clips onto the front of my Ingersol, someday it will clip onto a PT. I use the lift arm from the snow blower to lift it up and down. Rather than use down pressure, I welded another spindle vertically so I could stack 40lb of barbell weights out by disc, that way I could use it in "float"
I have 550' of driveway, and I have to say it worked great after a couple adjustments. I just drove up and down a couple times and I was done. Now I have to finish picking up the grass and dirt. It rolls the grass/dirt over onto the driveway and leaves a little 2-3" deep trench about 4-5" wide. It more or less naturally follows the pavement edge, so it’s really easy to use.
