I HAVE PLANS OF A DRIVEWAY SCRAPER THAT I BUILT IF ANYBODY WOULD LIKE IT. SORRY I DON'T HAVE A DIGITAL CAMERA SO I CAN NOT TAKE PICTURES OF IT. I HAVE PLANS IN AUTOCAD FORMAT AND ALSO IN A PDF FORMAT.

COULD SOMEONE TELL ME HOW TO POST THESE KIND OF FILES?

PDF files and zip files seem to post ok, in the same way as an image file. Not sure about a dwg file. Files must be smaller than 100KB though.

Cool! Nice project.
Just a note: The resolution is such that some of the (small)dimensions are illegible ... but could probably be derived from the others.
Cheers!

I COULD POST A LARGER PDF IF EVERYONE WOULD LIKE, MAYBE A 24x36 PDF. JUST LET ME KNOW AND I CAN REMAKE THE PDF.

I COULD ALSO ATTACH THE CAD FILE IF ANYONE WANTED THAT INSTEAD OF THE PDF. JUST LET ME KNOW WHAT FORMAT YOU NEED IT IN.

Looks good.

Have you started yet? What size material are you using for the "blades"?

If you added some brackets to the front blade, you might be able to add in some small "scarifiers" to help loosen the material up as it's graded. Think they'd only need to go down 2 or so inches, maybe one every 8" or so...........

THKS.

YES, IT IS COMPLETE AND WORKS GREAT.

6" C CHANNEL (NOT SURE ON WEIGHT) THAT I HAD IN THE SHOP

SO FAR IT WORKS GOOD WITHOUT THE SCARIFIERS BUT IF I RUN INTO PROBLEMS I WILL THINK ABOUT ADDING THEM. I ALSO HAVE A BOX BLADE WITH SCARIFIERS AND A 3 POINT TILLER IF I DO NEED TO LOOSEN THE GROUND.

ATTACHED IS A PICTURE OF A SIMILAR SCRAPER THAT THEY SELL FOR $800 OR SO, I HAD $50 DOLLARS IN MINE.

Oh, ok, mostly for smoothing of gravel. I had it in mind as a DuraGrader type with dual (abrasion resistant) grader blades (not just plain hot rolled channel). Bet it does work great!
If the channel wore pretty fast, I noticed that my local steel yard has ¼" AR400 steel in 8' wide sheets, sheared to any length for $1.60/# ... that would be a reasonable way to get some quick and easy durable edges.
Cheers!

I THOUGHT ABOUT THE WEAR PROBLEM AND IF IT DOES I WILL JUST BOLT ON SOME ABRASION RESISTANT STEEL PLATES TO THE C CHANNEL.

---ABOUT THE WEAR PROBLEM

We built a scraper years back that was basically kinda an open 'Z' affair from 6" X 6" wood stock.
The three 'blades' were faced with 3/8 X 4" common mild flats and lag bolter every 10" to the face.

We dragged that for 10 years over 3 miles every 2 weeks or so.

The wood rotted before the flats wore barely 20%.
We dragged it with an old Willis and used a 12" tire as an 'in line' SHOCK ABSORBER
The tire would streatch before yanking the bumper.

Worked great!

A little faster was more efficient than real slow, I recall.(probably 7-8MPH)

The topping would get skimmed and travel from left to right down to second blade and right to left to 3rd blade where it traveled again left to right.

Neatly filled all the depressions for another 2-3 weeks.

Oh The things we do! LOL

I am making one along the lines of a Duragrader/Big Boy. The 6" angle I am using for the cutters will have a 1/4" plate welded across the opening. This will stiffen it up and I will weld a larger extra bead along the leading edge as hardening

I would love to have that DXF or DWG file :)
I've tried to convert both PDF's to CAD so I can re-scale it to a smaller size (Cat 0) to work with what I have.

Thanks,
Bill
