Is the BX2350/BX24 too heavy to mow grass over a septic line? I have a new septic; which means not just 4" perf pipe in the ground. It's got these 12-18" wide plastic Quansit hut style. We have five of them about 40' long. I'm going to call the builder as well, but thought I'd ask you guys as well?

A properly installed drainage bed system should be OK. However, there is a significant difference between a standard septic tank lid and the version called a "traffic lid". A standard lid (about 3-4" thick) should not have any heavy vehicles running over it. A traffic lid is 6" or more thick and will allow heavy traffic and even a driveway to be installed over the tank. If you think you will ever need a traffic lid, get it swapped out now by the builder.

I run over mine with a 16,000 lb backhoe with no problems. That's what the installer uses for the final grade during which he drives over it himself. I too have the plastic chambers.

We just had a rather long discussion on this a few weeks age. Use the search function and search for Septic to get hundreds of hits.

Bottom line is it all depends on how your system was designed. In most cases you will be ok.

Every search I've performed on this site gives me a bunch of SQL errors. I don't think its a security issue on my end.

Thanks for the info, I think I'll be ok; but will double check with the installer. Yes, the chambers is what I have. The tank, which won't be driven over is concrete and massive!!

Thanks.

Did you read the bright red banner at the top of the page? You have no security issues. An upgrade is taking place. Just be a little patient.
