As stated in other posts Flex o glass is crystal clear plastic. I actually got mine off of Amazon through one of their cooperating merchants.

As an update the two sides I did are still on the tractor and haven't moved a bit. No reason you couldn't put it all the way around. With the way I have it mounted at this point there is air coming in at the bottom.

I'm planning on going all the way around but am wrestling with the "door" situation. The magnets I used are really strong and I need to pry them off to remove them. I have to either get weaker magnets or work out a system which allows them to be further from the metal and thus not holding as strongly (but strongly enough). I'm considering embedding them into a piece of wood and attaching the flex o glass to that.
My other "problem" is what to do around the back of the tractor when the backhoe is attached as the "cab" would be in the way. Not a problem in the winter when the cab will be most useful.

I figure what I will ultimately do is mount the flex o glass into wooden frames with the magnets attached. The frames don't have to be very strong as the magnets hold the whole thing. Then I can just take the frame off using the wood to pull off the magnet and have the right size panel ready to go.

About driving a tractor on pavement
Make sure your front end loader is way off the ground when/ is you cross railroad tracks. A friends dad was killed when he bounced across tracks and the loader snagged on one just above the roadway at full tractor speed (probably less then 15mph.) He hit the steering wheel smack in his chest. Remember the tractor has no springs, no collapsing steering wheel and (probably) you have the seat belt off.

thank you for the reply. I am now considering doing this with furing strips - to keep the weight down. Gotta love this site, so many ideas and innovations.

Anyone who thinks driving on the road without using the seatbelt really needs their heads examined. That seat belt is the only thing that might save you if you go off the shoulder and roll into a ditch or if you get hit by another vehicle. I don't where my seatbelt when I am in the middle of a hay field but the trip to the hayfield I wear it the entire way and anytime I am on the road, near the road or working on a slope of any type.

Robert, with your luck, you better wear them 100% of the time! With everybody else, 99.99 is probably enough!

Am I the only one here that wears the safety belt onthe tractro the entire time I'm in the seat?

Any of you guys ever hit a gopher hole while doing 9mph... with no seatbelt I might be under the mower!!

Chris, you have seat belts on your tractors:confused:

My main tractor I use for everything is the 7710 with cab, it is hard to fall out of it while operating. The TN has hand holds on both sides and my nature has me holding on to one of them all the time unless I am using the loader. The only tractor I have that I would even start to worry about falling off from would be the Ford 640 but I do not have very many wood chucks in my fields. The discbine takes care of them and if one manages to avoid the discbine the rifle will find him. It is easy to keep them away if you don't let them get out of control.

I really do not feel like I am going to fall off the 640 or any of my tractors regardless of what bumps and such I have ran into. Do you feel that way? The one tractor I did feel like I would fall off is my old Allis Chalmers WD 45. I miss that tractor.

I do remember hitting the canopy on the TN once when I found a ditch, maybe that is what you need. The canopy will keep you in the cockpit :)

No, but I suspect we are in the minority. I often get strange looks when I buckle up. Never sure why they have a problem with it!

I actually only have seatbelts on 1 tractor right now.. the 7610s.. and i deffinately wear it when I'm riding it.

I'm looking for a rops for my 5000, and when I get it.. I'm installing a set of belts on it too. Would love to have a 3rd set for my 850 since it has a loader.. but would probably not put one on the 660 with laoder so that i could keep one 'low' profile.

I can get the rops for my 850 no problem.. just not a priority on my list right now.
