Nice video...thanks. Nice location up on that ridge too.

Your phantom 2 is quite stable and tuned. Much more than my phantom 1.

Thanks for posting a good HQ video showing off what the drone can and cant do. Hopefully the misinformed will see that you just don't use a wide angle camera to spy on 16 year olds in a bikini. If people used drones for this purpose YouTube would be flooded with the footage. Which is not the case.

Fantastic video, thanks for sharing. I would love to have something like that to check on our horse herd, etc. It might be good for checking on trespassing hunters too while staying warm :)

I've got mixed feelings about drones. I can see how they would be a lot of fun, potentially useful, and I have thought about getting one. On the other hand, my neighbor has a drone. So far, he's kept it on his property, but when he flies it and I'm in the backyard, I can't help but feel like I'm being spied on. And it is noisy. As long as he stays over the line, it'll be fine. What are the laws about airspace over your property? Obviously airplanes can fly over, but is there a low ceiling limit?

Very cool. What's the noise like from that? I could see a use for that taping my wife's training sessions and shows (show jumping), but would be afraid of spooking the horses.

I see the Phantom 3 is out and there is one model with 4K video and one with 1080p.

Do you think it is worthwhile to get the higher resolution?

4K is 4096x2160, 1080p is 1920x1080.

I feel the same way. I was up in Bozeman visiting family a couple of weeks ago and there were a few drones flying around the neighborhood hovering over people's houses. If that ever happened at my house I would likely not think it was very cool at all and would take action. I don't think it is your right as an American to fly your drone over anybodys house or private property you please.

I wonder if people have to carry insurance on them as hitting something or someone with one could cause some damage. I kinda doubt a homeowners policy will cover flying drones over other people's property if something were to happen.

Very nice job. Your opening comment was right --- these things can be used for good stuff but it is quite easy to see how they could be used for some very bad stuff.

I would agree. Nice toy but keep it at home. I doubt drone owners would like me putting a camera on a pole looking into their backyard. Not to mention the noise. No, homeowners insurance would not cover this.

The video quality on some of the drones is amazing. People out cruising around the world are making videos of their boats and locations that is movie quality. The videos look like they hired a copter to come out and shoot a video.

This video is not of a remote out of the way place but the video quality and steadiness of the video boggles my mind. Well, that and what the captain does with the ship. http://i.imgur.com/ePwonn0.webm
