I always wanted a diesel truck. When I finally got my 08 Duramax (Free 6.6 and Allison when GM went broke) it really wasn't a diesel any more. Probably even less now. What's the point? It's just a bunch of stupid, complicated, expensive computers, and only a Diesel because it happens to still burn that stuff. And even that stuff, aint the same. Sad!

Who wants or needs a diesel . The wife痴 Sierra 1500 crew cab 4x4 has the Max Towing option with the 420HP 6.2. Power and efficiency of a diesel without gelled filters, glow plugs, two batteries, turbo, variable waste gate, EGR cooler, particulate filter and urea injection. Plus the cost of the diesel option and higher priced fuel.

Agreed. The epa has ruined diesels, the backwards logic makes no sense - use more diesel to run cleaner?

I haven't figured out what the point of a DPF is either. Doesn't catching it for a while and then blowing it out equal the same net result?

The epa could not eliminate diesels with CO, HC and NOX so they had to imagine that shoot particles are a new problem. Same as finding CO2 the product of clean combustion, now the stuff is a crisis. Next they will complain about the water vapour in the exhaust .

I know my local Chevy dealer doesn't stock diesels any-more;just the gas HD's.A friend of mine just ordered a 2018 HD and it's going to be gas;he had a Ford diesel and Chevy diesels in the past.
