Yes, probably wasn't smart on my part. I like Canada. Spent about a month up there this summer at my company's retreat. Fly employees in and out about 10 times.

Sorry Canada.... well, most of ya Eh? Oh Ya.

Chris

Its cool, just caught me by surprise. Realistically it happens all the time where the rest of the world lumps everyone from the US into one inbred "'Murica" stereotype, so I guess I shouldn't complain about getting it once when you guys get it all the time.

As long as we're on the topic of the guys up north, I heard an interesting fact this morning. 90% of Canadians live within 100 miles of the US border.

That is just preparations for the invasion. Any day now... ;)

Back to the 2.7... That should make for a great engine in the 2wd regular and super cab trucks too. Very light truck and strong little workhorse.

47% of Americans live in counties on one of the three coasts. Atlantic, Pacific, and Gulf. About 80% live within 50 miles of a coast.

We live that close because its warmer the further south we go so we huddle at the border ..........and that way those Ford ecoboost turbo moisture problems won't freeze up so often :D

When ford brings in the 8-speed, it will be a sweet combination for all the mall cruisers.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but their won't be an 8-speed. It will be either 9 or 10 speed and is slated for the '17 model year I believe. Then it will continue to be a sweet combination from mall cruisers on up to those towing loads that belong behind a 3/4 ton truck.

Thats a bit of a stretch. Nobody here will pull those loads behind an ecodiesel (9000#), yet it has comparable tow rating to the 2.7EB (8500#). I'll put both those trucks in the same class. You just have to decide whether you want a gasser or a diesel. Do you want cheap fuel with lower MPG or expensive fuel with higher MPG? I know there is also torque involved, but with those tow ratings, torque is not a big factor. But then again, maybe thats one reason why diesels gets better fuel mileage, engine doesn't have to work so hard to gets loads moving.

I looked into getting an ecodiesel, but the local dealers are what drove me away, not the truck. Since I'm not into heavy towing, I'll look into the 2.7EB for my next truck.

I was referring to the truck in general, not so much of the 2.7L pulling loads that should be behind a 3/4 ton.

And the EcoDiesel doesn't have the payload to properly tow 9k lbs, but the 2.7L will have no trouble with the payload necessary to tow it's rated load. That's been beat to death so I won't rehash that.
