Gee I keep hearing of all your snow and rain and mud and floods........

We have had the dryest first quarter of a year since 1965.

We have only had this property for 18 months and I thought the mowing would take over my life.

What mowing????

Have only slashed the grass 4 times since I have been here. Hence I don't get to spend too much time on the tractor /w3tcompact/icons/sad.gif

Oh and I should add we have had the hottest summer on record. The 3 months of summer averaged over 34 degrees C which is over 93 degrees F for you guys. /w3tcompact/icons/crazy.gif

Send some rain over here where we really need it.

Cheers

Well, we have had some rain, and snow the last few weeks, but on a whole, we need the rain REAL bad. It has been a real dry year over here.

It is so dry here I am scared. We have had hardly no snow or rain now in by my standards about 2.5 years and to top it off i just drilled a well---probably dry. Good grief, given the opportunity I am going back to the South where I at least can understand what people are saying even if they have no teeth and it rains from time to time.

Its been a very dry winter for us in New England as well...the only good thing about it is that we are out working with the tractor a lot earlier than normal (usually we would tear up the lawn and fields if I even tried this early). Spent most of the day driving my very heavy JD5410 with loader and filled tires across my "finish" lawn and haven't made barely a dent...sure hope the well don't run dry this year....

To date this winter we have only had about 24 inches or so (depending where you are in Central NY). The normal snow fall for our area is 150-180 inches all season. Do we see a problem?

They are already talking about water rationing if we don't get some good soaking rains in New Hampshire.

Wish we had some to send your way. /w3tcompact/icons/sad.gif

Has anyone else heard there is an El Niño weather event shaping up? From what I understand (meteorology is NOT my strong suit, at least not global weather) it dries out Oz, and the normally wet NE USA is drier.. and the wet SE USA is even wetter.

Arkansas had a near record rainfall for March, over 17 inches total.. with a few floods.

I live in Florida (SE USA) and my year to date total is only 7.11 inches of rain. Very dry here too...

We have been undergoing El Nino for years or so they say. (Seems like it is here 100%??)

They said the other night we are 50% chance of having it again this year.

(Gee they pay people to come up with those sorts of stats?? /w3tcompact/icons/hmm.gif)

Anyway, yes it means dry as buggery. Year to date for me here is only 6" (3 of which fell on New Years Eve)

Nasty weather........

I have lived in Alabama all my life, all 33 years of it. I have all my teeth. All the stereotypes about the south never cease to amaze me. Just to clear things up: I am not married to my sister, Elvis is dead, I have never seen a UFO, I don't live in a mobile home, and here is the real kicker. I work for NASA.
