I like to sand the paper away. Then it's all nice and fuzzy and not much you can do to fix it!

It's not a job you could pay me enough to do. Hats off to people that do this kind of work, well.

On the event that happens you can spray it with Shellac. It seals the paper and it doesn’t bubble up with further mudding or painting like it does unattended.

Will mud and paint stick to the shellac?

I’ve done it hundreds of times and I’ve never had any problems doing it.

Good to know. Thanks

Will mud and paint stick to the shellac?
Absolutely. Shellac is used as a primer/sealer under many forms of finishes, and is the base of some 'stain hider' paints.

when i had to install wood flooring on 4 floors and stairs, drywall work on several rooms, we just use the house heat . i put in those cheap paper pleat filters in the intake and heat registers. when i was done and in cleanup stages the owner just ended up doing a whole house hvac duct clean work done. it was best decision he made and i am sure its the same for any new home build.

Ever heard of "Buttboards"?
Google: trim-tex.com
Then go to ... "backing for drywall".
The drywall butt joint is made BETWEEN the studs, rather than ON the studs.
"Buttboard"... is a trademarked product.
Makes the best looking crack proof wall you will ever see.
I made my own "Buttboards" using OSB. 10 years later not a hint of a crack, and walls are completely flat.
Absolute minimum sanding!
You can request a "Buttboard" sample, and then use it as a pattern.

Love it! Will now just have to try and remember that next time I have a project...

One option that was commonly done in the past is to put multiple filters ahead of the return air. But invariably, I am told, those filters quickly plugged then you were stressing the HVAC by starving the return air. One thing I have learned about construction-- s*** will happen. Most trades only focus on their trade-- and nothing else.

This may sound counter-intuitive, but the opposite is true. The reason a vacuum cleans revs up when you plug the intake is not because "the governor is telling it to send more power", it's because there is less air moving through, which requires less power.

I learned this after installing a VFD on our dust collector. All the blast gates open - maximum amperage draw. All blast gates closed - minimum amperage draw.

Yep. Your vacuum example is a good one. All the air in a free-flowing vacuum puts a load on the fan.

Plug the hose = no air = no load = motor revs up freely.

Think of a boat propeller on an outboard motor. Lift the outboard up and the prop comes out of the water and the engine revs up because there's no load.

Air is a fluid.
