One of my patients had the same thing happen except it was on a brand new computer. The computer evidently was shipped with the wrong components and they caused the computer to catch on fire and burned their house down. Luckily they were all gone at the time.

Mark,
I don't remember them ever making the Pentium Pro at a measly 66Mhz. I think that's likely the bus speed rather than the CPU speed. I don't recall the Pro coming out at less than 200 MHz, although my memory might be getting a bit slow. If it's only 5 years old ... I'm sure that it has more than enough oomph for DSL ...
The original Pentium came out in 66 and then 75, then 90, 100, 120, 133, 150, 166 ...and then it really went nuts ....
