you can store that at my place for the winter.

I run those all the time and always shut them off while working up high. Never an issue.

The juddering is from the flow regulator valve. This keeps the platform lowering speed nearly constant regardless of load. These valves tend to cycle when flow goes through them initially and you feel it as juddering in the platform. I am glad that it is working out for you.
