Dual Wall HDPE Culvert vs Metal?

/ Dual Wall HDPE Culvert vs Metal? #31
The old fella that did my dirt work highly recommended concrete culverts. I got 2- 15" 7.5 ft ones for around $200 or $225. For a total of 15ft wide. They have crushed concrete around them. About 6" on top. They were not damaged by an 18 wheeler logging truck, 22 tri axle dumps full of dirt, 5 concrete trucks, a big concrete pump.

I was able to pick them up in my little 16ft utility trailer no problem. I was not able to unload them. None of my stuff will pick them up at 1000lbs each.

I'm pretty sure PennDOT has put more pipe in the ground than anyone in this thread. If you want to KNOW how to do it to a DOT standard, look at page 132/361 (sheet 4 of 5 in RC-30M) in the first hyperlink. You can also do a google search for PennDOT Road Construction Standards. We follow these details on the standard drawings and the PennDOT Pub 408 specifications for culvert installations.
