Do you recognize this duck? Notice the feathers on top of the head.

See attachment.

That looks just like Rosie, our 15 month old duck. She is supposed to be a female mallard. Here is a picture of her.

We had 2 more like her, but neither one of them had the tuft of feathers on top of their heads. They were apparently killed and eaten by coyotes.

I think it's a mutt. A cross between a mallard and something else. I bought some ducks from TSC once. I couldn't tell what any of them were. I think they were all cross breeds.

Maybe a poodle?

That jogged the memory button. Knew I had seen that before. It is a Mutt. In fact, I believe a Mutt Lange (can't remember the last name for sure). Anyway, it is a cross between a mallard and an eighties "Hair Band". Feathers and Mullets just don't mix.

Uhh...I could be wrong...but isn't Mutt Lange Shania Twain's husband? /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

The best I can tell, the "mallard" is the mom and the "kind of white" ones are the babies.

If these photos are legit, then that mostly female mallard is mutating.

There is a widespread problem with Mallards and American Black Ducks cross breeding in the wild. But this is not the product of that.

Totally bizzare. I'd run the other way. Never NEVER seen anything like it.
