A lot depends on fast the driver notices the low oil pressure light...

All the best, Peter
I had automatic shutoffs on some of our trucks. High water temp or low oil pressure and the engine would shut down. They saved a couple of engines for us.

I found at a yard sale, a really old shop vac. It was like a drum with both the intake and the exhaust on the top lid with the motor and fan. The bearings to the fan seemed to have lost all lubrication. So I sprayed a good amount of old style WD40 in to the intake. And then turned it on. Lost my eyebrows instantly, and the thing spun up like a jet engine sending flames to the ceiling. Good thing I wear glasses. And it kept spinning up ever faster till I pulled the plug.

Many years ago when I bought this house it had a fuel oil furnace. It always cut off at 2am in January. Most always it was the nozzle jet filter clogged. One night I mean early morning I'm working on it, replaced nozzle, new ignition electrodes...still wouldn't fire. So (here it comes ) I opened the transformer door and put a screwdriver across HV contacts to see if it arced. Turned furnace on not thinking it was spraying fuel and "B O O M!!!!!". The explosion knocked me to the floor. My wife said I looked exactly like Al Jolson except my beard, eyelashes, eyebrows and hair was gone!
I had to go to work a few hours later. I said "the first comment gets a bloody nose!".
