I heard on the news a lady tried to pass a million dollar bill at Walmart, how ignorant can one be ?
A couple of years ago a man and his wife were robbing some banks in my area and a few weeks went by and things settled down and this dummy called 911 from a motel room and asked if there was a warrant out for himself. He was trying to be incognito and about 5 or 10 minutes the cops had the handcuffs on him. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

My credit manager is also a police officer and he comes in with the funniest stories about how stupid people are.

But it is also amazing some of the stuff people do. Apparently it is common to rent a car from a major rental operation, swap out the battery, alternator, water pump, even a set of tires with the clunker in the driveway and then return the rental with junk parts.

Other stories about how little kids get neglected by their drug abusing parents range from sad to sick.

But the idiocy of some people is simply amazing.

She was told by the clerk that they didn't accept MasterCard any longer, so all she had in her purse was the 1,000,000 bill. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

The report said that she was trying to buy about $1600 worth of stuff. Yeah, I'm sure the cashier had $998,400 in her drawer to give her change.

This lady is definitely IQ-impaired (to be politically correct)

Uh ... fellas, this was clearly not a matter of stupidity. Obviously this woman's elevator doesn't quite reach the top.

A different issue altogether. The only real stupid part is the part where they put her in jail instead of a hospital.

Gatorboy . . . could that bill have been binary?

I actually found out recently that there *is* such a thing as a million dollar bill. My daughter was researching the Statue of Liberty, and one of the facts she found was that Lady Liberty is on the $1,000,000 bill. Not that I've ever seen one outside of WalMart - they made a mistake and gave me one for change one time /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif...

The Statue of Liberty is on the million dollar bill, however the bill has no value. Note the wording in the attached picture.

This is the largest bill, the 10,000 bill which is no longer in circulation.

The largest bill is the $100,000 bill, with Woodrow Wilsons picture on it,it was never in circulation,it was only used by the feds(in certain areas). After 1969 the feds quit putting into circulation anything above a $100 bill.
Did you kow the names 50 states are actually printed on the back of a $5.00 bill ?

The Bureau of Engraving web site did not mention the larger bill, but not being in circulation is why it was not listed in the collectors page.

I will bite on the $5 bill, the one in my wallet does not have the states listed, which series or is the print to small for my bifocals? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

From the U.S. Treasury's web page--

"The vignette on the reverse of the five-dollar bill depicts the Lincoln Memorial. You may be aware that, engraved on that Memorial are the names of the 48 states in 1922, which was the year the Memorial was dedicated. There are engravings of 26 State names on front of the building, which appears on the note vignette. As a result, only 26 of the States appear on the note.

The upper frieze of the Memorial bears the States of Arkansas, Michigan, Florida, Texas, Iowa, Wisconsin, California, Minnesota, Oregon, Kansas, West Virginia, Nevada, Nebraska, Colorado, and North Dakota. The lower Frieze lists the States of Delaware, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Georgia, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maryland, Virginia, and New York. In addition, the engravings show the abbreviated names "Hampshire" (for New Hampshire) and "Carolina" (for South Carolina). We have no information why the prefixes for these states were not used."

I was looking in the "World book encylopedia" and it has a good illustration of all the US paper currency.I learned all about this years ago on a TV show, can you tell me who's picture is on the $10,000 dollar bill ?(he was not a president but I believe he served under Abe Lincoln)

The 50 states are printed on the back of your $5.00 bill, you need a magnifying glass to see/read them.

I think it may be illegal to reproduce any US currency in any form, even if it's not possible to spend it.

I took off the images of the currency and replaced them with links to the pages where I found them. I don't want to go to the federal pen and share a cell with someone named Bubba. (No offense there, Bubba) /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

They had a good one in Dayton the other day. Some young kid robbed someone, took off in his car, then the police chased him until he crashed his car. Then he got out of the car and took off running until his pants which were just barely hanging on his butt, fell down around his knees and tripped him up. I was laughing so hard I didn't catch all the details. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
