I used kerosene to rinse the water and rust out of my snowsled engine. (Less volatile than gas.) I dumped out as much as I could, but there's traces in the bottom of the tank. Can this hurt anything, other than a little residue on the plugs?

Some people add Marvel Mystery oil to their fuel, so I don't think a bit of kero is going to matter.
Rust..Have you considered coating the inside of the tank to seal up and prevent more rust ?
Several manufacturers make kits to coat the inside of yucky fuel tanks.
