I used kerosene to rinse the water and rust out of my snowsled engine. (Less volatile than gas.) I dumped out as much as I could, but there's traces in the bottom of the tank. Can this hurt anything, other than a little residue on the plugs?

I don't think a little bit of kero will hurt anything.
Some people add Marvel Mystery oil to their fuel, so I don't think a bit of kero is going to matter.
Rust..Have you considered coating the inside of the tank to seal up and prevent more rust ?
Several manufacturers make kits to coat the inside of yucky fuel tanks.

The little bit of "kero" you have in the tank will cause no problem. Many people used "top oil" for years mixed with the gas. It's purpose was to lub the valve train. I don't know if it did any good but it won't do any harm.

I've even seed a bit o' diesel added to gas to act as an anti ping addative..(pre-combustion.. etc. )

I had an old IH 340 Utility gasser that I restored and had a terribly rusty gas tank that I sealed with a tank sealer. First I used some naval jelly and rolled it all around in the tank to coat it good - the tank was a 10 gallon so not too big. Let that sit awhile then rinsed it out good with water. Did this procedure 1 more time then set the tank in the hot summer sun to dry. Next I threw in about a coffee can full of sharp-edged gravel, about 1/2" - 3/4" size (57's), and shook that baby all kinds of ways to loosen any remaining stuff, then another rinse in water and a sun-dry. The sealer I bought came in a quart can, cost me $35, but that one can did that 10 gal. tank and 2 automobile gas tanks over 20 gal. each - completely coated the whole inside of the tanks. Made a great membrane coating in the tanks that never came loose. Can't recall the name of the stuff but I've seen a couple different brands advertised ove the years, I'm sure it wouldn't be hard to locate.

Remember when Texaco advertised the "tower of power" Sky Chief gasoline? Now of course I don't really know, but the state inspector said he wouldn't use it because it was the same thing as adding a little diesel or kerosene to boost the power, and it would foul plugs a little sooner than normal.
