>I am currently restoring the frame on my 1977 Jeep CJ7. I was thinking of coating it with the same stuff.

Firsttimer,
A little OT but i recently did a body-off 87 YJ restoration and used POR15. It is a little pricey, but it actually chemically combines with rust and halts the corrosion process. That saved me a lot of grunt work in the final prep stages and it has held up perfectly. Perhaps the bed liner stuff as a top coat might be the ultimate.
POR stands for "Paint Over Rust'.

One of the land cruisers in my club has black and red liner sprayed on the sheetmetal inside and out. Nice but kinda heavy I would think. Never really got into it. No rust to be seen anywhere. Of course this is from someone with 3/16 steel side panels and rocker knockers on his TJ

I sprayed my step on my Kubota L3430 with black bed spray as the paint was wearing off. It has held up very well there. I don't think I would spray my bucket though.

Thanks for the great responses guys! I talked to my buddy who owns the Rhino franchise last night and we discussed in more detail the idea of lining the bucket. He tends to agree with all of you, he thinks the major problem would be the leading edge of the bucket and that would be the place that would fail first.

As far a the material staying in the bucket (good point by the way) he agrees, but he has a way of smoothing it out if we were to do it.

So in the end...a dumb idea, but, it generated a few very good ideas. I especially like the idea of spraying the floor pan once the rubber mat wears out. I think that would be a perfect application for the Rhino material.

Thanks agin for the brain storming!

Yes, POR15 is awesome stuff. I used to fab alot of roll cages before I sold my race car, and I painted them with POR15 because it wouldn't scratch off when climbing over the side bars. POR15 also has a product which wets out nicely, and can be painted with a brush, but will look like it was sprayed once it's wetted out and hardened.

I had thought about using the Rhino stuff to spray the underside of the mower deck, but there's the problem with it not being slick enough, can they spray it on without the texture? The drop in bed liners are slick as all get out, if they could make the Rhino liner that slick it would be ideal.

If you have a Tractor Supply Co. store near you, they sell graphite base paint in spray can, quart & gallon sizes. I buy it in gallon form for the friction surfaces of my implements, mower & loader. You are left with a slick surface that would work better for your bucket that a rubberized surface. I think it was $23.00 a gallon.

if the rhino liner is too sticky - spray it with some armorall or other silicone based material. they actually warned me about this (truck bed) as it will become very slick.
