When you buy a 3PH implement, does the hardware that cannects it to the 3PH usually come with? Is it attached to the implement in some way? Or was it supposed to come with the tractor?

Sheesh, this seems dumb - sorry. Gotta lnow though.

Thanks,

Jim

Not dumb at all.
The hardware will be with the implements, 99% of the time, more likely 100% of the time. The tractor has the 3pt hitch. The hardware has the pins the 3pt hitch hooks too. The tractor will have the toplink and the new implement will have a PTO shaft if necessary.

I deserved that. :)

Thanks Bo.

Jim,
Every implement that I have purchased so far has had the lower link pins supplied with it, but hardly any of them had the pin for the top link. I only have two top link pins and they came from my J.D. dealer when I purchased the tractor.

just to restate what hoss said, the lower pins shold be with the implement, and if it is pto drive it should come with a pto shaft. top link pins and locking pins u have to supply, i normally keep a few extra around.

Thanks Hoss and Frank - Are these top pins something you got with your tractor? Or did you have to buy them seperately. I got two 3/8" pins with the tractor, but they don't seem sturdy enough for this purpose.

Thanks,

Jim

Jim,
Usually you wouldn't expect to get a top pin with the tractor, but that's not a biggie. (By top pin, I'm referring the pin that connects your top link to your implement) They're pretty cheap, maybe a few bucks. I know I have a few laying around of varying lengths that I have accumulated over the years. For Category I they're 3/4" diameter.

You guys need to get a dealer that takes better care of you. Every new implement that I've got came with a toplink pin.

Well, we ordered a 57" First Choice tiller from Sweet today. We'll see how that theory holds up!

BTW - Ken Sweet answered all questions, and was a pleasure to deal with.

I recently purchased a post hole digger, I was sure to get extra shear bolts and an extra top link pin before heading home. To my disappointment the unit was shipped without oil in the gear box. /w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif Would not be so bad if I did not live 30+ minutes from nearest store.
